Many of our customers have told us that they know the prices associated with the services provided by Pro Film Archiving and that our pricing is substantially lower despite the fact that our quality and service is substantially higher. We are always pleased to receive such feedback, because it is our goal to provide our customers with the highest caliber of service at affordable prices.
Virtual Drum Scanning
When choosing to move up to virtual drum scanning, it is important to consider the numerous opportunities that will now be available to you. With negatives or photographs, you must pay whenever you want reprints, the quality of the negatives and original photographs will inevitably degrade, and attempts to share photographs with family and friends over the Internet will suffer from the low quality of scanners presently available for home use.
You have few alternatives: you either pay for reprints as needed, or for preservation and Internet you turn them into low-quality digital files created by flatbed scanners. And while there are numerous inexpensive scanning companies on the web, we believe that your precious memories deserve to be preserved at a higher quality than the images provided by those companies.
The scanned image files Pro Film Archiving returns to you are not only top-quality, they will not degrade, they can be reprinted again and again, and they can be uploaded at the level of quality you choose.
Furthermore, these beautiful images can be edited with various computer software programs, such as Adobe PhotoShop and Coral Paint Shop Pro, which will allow you to perform any number of activities, such as resizing, color restoration, scratch removal, and much more. Any effort at photo restoration -- commonly known as "Photo-Shopping" -- will benefit from higher resolution scans.
We require a minimum order size of 40 negatives or 10 photographs.

Please note: All of our virtual drum scanning is done on Hasselblad Flextight X5 scanners, the best virtual drum scan technology. Resolutions are preset at high-end depth and resolution levels. Customers interested in lower or higher resolutions for their film may request any level from us. Resolutions below are expressed as a maximum for width, they can exceed 8000dpi lengthwise. These ratios are expressed for both RGB and Grayscale.

Slide Scanning
At PFA it is our desire to centralize pricing as much as possible to make it easier for our customers. Every slide will be scanned through at the highest level of 16bit RGB color channels with ICE scratch/blemish removal and color enhancement, then stored as a .tif extension. As with all of our services image rotation is included. So below you will find our slide scanning prices based upon quantity and not quality or size.

Document Scanning
For privacy and security, all scan processing is done on computers that are not connected to our network and never see internet access.
Regardless of the size of your project, our Document Scanning & Management services can meet your needs.
End result scans are stored in either searchable PDF or multipage searchable TIFF files according to preference. The benefit and reliability of OCR quality, the ability to search words through individual or all PDF/TIFF files at once, is included with every order. We also offer OCR conversion services for customers who would like to convert their non-searchable files to OCR quality. In addition, every order can be organized to client directed specifications.
We also provide storage options for our clients interested in having a safe-house to retain backups of their digital files. All backups are stored on high-capacity external hard drives and then locked up. We never store your files on servers, or in areas accessible to the public or employees.
For orders that our customers do not desire returned, we can arrange to have them properly destroyed. These services will not commence until we have received written confirmation that all files have been received and are accounted for.

Business Card Scanning
We offer the highest quality business card scans for low flat rates. All of the information of the card is retained along with its image. All contact information is then stored in the software(s) you choose such as: Outlook, Outlook Express, Palm, Windows, PDAs, Iphones, Smart Phones, Lotus Notes, Gold Mine, and more. Restoration Services
We offer color restoration services. Many customers have sent us color photographs that are 30, 40 or even 50 or more years old.
The images had, of course, faded with the passage of time, and the photographs often developed a reddish hue as the primary colors -- red, green and blue -- degraded at different speeds. We will do our best to restore the color of the images to their original condition. The cost for this service is $25 per image.
We also offer photo restoration services. The number of items that fall within this category are too numerous to itemize, but they include scratch and crease removal, blemish removal, "cleaning" the image, and much more. The cost for this service varies by image -- we have received images from customers that required only 30 minutes to restore, and we have received images from customers that required more than 8 hours to restore. This service is charged at the rate of $50 per hour, and estimates will be provided before any work is performed.
Storage
We will always give an estimate as to how much space you will need so that you may plan accordingly for which storage option(s) to go with.
Data DVDs
Picture / Document images will be sent pre-loaded on brand new data DVDs. The number of DVDs necessary will be determined by the projects' space requirement. Price per DVD is $5.
USB Flash Drives
A brand new flash drive(s) will be sent with your order pre-loaded. Prices vary depending on storage capacity of the flash drive(s) required.
External Hard-Drives
A brand new external hard-drive will be sent with your images pre-loaded. As with flash drives, prices will vary based upon the hard-drive size needed. Massive capacity external drives have recently become quite affordable.
Shipping & Insurance
All orders will be carefully packaged and shipped by insured, U.S. Priority Mail unless overnight delivery is requested. Shipping charges will vary depending on the size and quantity of physical files being returned, the number of DVDs, Flash or Hard Drives required for storage of the scanned files, and the amount of insurance required. An estimate of shipping and handling shall be provided upon order placement.
Packaging and handling fees will vary depending on how much there is to be packaged. This fee could be as low as $5, but will never exceed $50.
You will never pay more in actual shipping fees than it costs to ship.
