Hasselblad Flextight X5 - Virtual Drum Scanning Services
In accordance with our desire to make things easy for our customers, we do things very differently here at PFA. We make only premium scanning available, and employ the best equipment to achieve this high quality. We are also committed to working with you to ensure that the work meets your expectations. In addition, unlike most other image processing companies our rates are conveniently based on a per image basis, so that our customers' pictures may reach their highest level of quality with one flat price.
For Negatives
Our state of the art machines offer true 16-bit color depth scans with resolutions which can exceed 8000dpi. The average file-size will vary based on the material being scanned. File extensions will be .tif (TIFF) extensions of the highest grade extracted from the initial raw file. For professional photographers interested in receiving the initial raw file as well, please let us know of your interest.
For Photographs
Scanning individual photographs is generally more time-intensive than scanning negatives. The same resolution and bit/depth ratios are available for photographs as they are for negatives.
Slide Scanning
We also provide high quality slide scanning services. With RGB color depth at 16-bit per channel and optical resolution of 4000dpi, you will be able to fully utilize and enjoy your slide scans. In addition, our machines employ ICE scratch/blemish removal, grain reduction, and color enhancement during the scan process. We can also generate additional file extensions for those interested in having other extensions as well, such as jpegs.
The scanning of slides is less time consuming than other film transfers we perform and we pass these savings on to our customers.
Document Scanning Services
At Pro Film Archiving we recognize the need to convert physical documents to digital archives. Whether you are a large or small business, or perhaps an individual hoping to free up space around the house, we can help you achieve the most from this service. The quality document scanning provided by PFA will do more than just free space; it will serve as a means to boost productivity through centralized information, file dissemination and peace of mind through orderly storage options and accessibility. In this, we can assist you in not only the transfer, but also the organization of your files.
Save time, money, and energy by having PFA take care of digitizing your sensitive documents. Both searchable PDF and multipage TIFF files are available for document storage. OCR, or Optical Character Recognition, is standard for all of our scans. This allows for the searching of all completed PDF or TIFF files at once through OCR-based applications. The benefits of this are paramount, as even unfamiliar information can be found the same way as one would swiftly search a webpage for a keyword.
In addition, we are pleased to work out an organizational pattern for finished files. By default we organize all our orders clearly and logically, but are happy to assist you in going further.
Finally, for very large orders, or orders that our clients do not wish returned to them, we can arrange to have the original paper documents properly and securely destroyed. This means they will not be shredded. We will never initiate document destruction until we have received written confirmation from our clients that all digitally archived files have been received and are accounted for.
Business Card Scanning Services
It has never been a better time to convert your numerous business card contacts to digital files. Not only will you retain an image of the business cards for referencing, but all of the information can be conveniently stored to the software you use. Whether it is Outlook, Outlook Express, Palm, Windows, PDAs, Iphones, Smart Phones, Lotus Notes, Gold Mine, or others. In addition, by default we provide color scanning and we do not charge more for this service.
Restoration Services
Below you will find a few restoration services we offer, which have been historically popular with our customers. It is important to note that after Pro Film Archiving scans your pictures, many wonderful options are now available for you to enjoy. We always encourage our customers to inform us of any special requests they have regarding restoration, as chances are if it's digital, we can assist you.
Color correction
Because of the high quality of the scans we provide, we are able to utilize high-end software to truly correct for the degradation of color on images. This is not only important for older photos that may have lost some or most of their brilliance and original color, but also may be used on both new and old images which suffer from such things as poor lighting.
Digital noise reduction
A somewhat natural byproduct of scanning is occasional digital noise, depending often on the film's condition. This "noise" represents minor inconsistencies, which are more noticeable at higher magnifications, that can reduce certain aspects of an image. Even images which at viewable space do not have any noticeable issues can benefit tremendously by having the hidden flaws cleaned up. Each image will receive professional attention to eliminate or greatly reduce unwanted inconsistencies.
Scratch / Blemish Removal
We provide effective scratch and blemish removal to cleanup and reconstruct flawed aspects of the picture. Through a variety of techniques we can remove unwanted lines, cuts, creases or other problems and then attempt to reconstruct the image.
Other Photo Reconstruction
Any additional image modifications fall under this category. Should you desire a special service please feel free to ask.
Storage Services
We offer three different and convenient methods for storing your finished images. You may wish to choose more than one depending on preference.
Data DVDs
For smaller orders, we recommend choosing this option. Data DVDs are excellent devices for the loading of pictures to your computer, while still retaining the disk as a backup for safekeeping. We always recommend that our customers store their files in a second location, such as a personal computer or hard drive, in addition to DVD ROMs.
USB Flash Drives
Also for smaller orders we can provide the finished project on flash drives. One of the most popular methods for on-the-go storage has advanced to the point where it can now be used efficiently as a backup system. The memory capacity of these drives has been increasing dramatically. This is one of the easiest and most useful methods for storing final document scans, and can definitely work for our film services as well.
External Hard Drives
External hard drives hold a lot of data and are recommended for larger orders. These offer an exceptional amount of room to keep the images, provide a safe backup, and allow for faster loading to your computer.
